Siliguri Excited About Boost in International Connectivity Thanks to Union Minister Gadkari’s NH Projects

Union Minister for Road, Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, recently inaugurated three national highway projects worth ₹1,206 crores in Siliguri, West Bengal. This exciting news is expected to boost international connectivity and encourage economic growth in West Bengal and other parts of eastern India, which will inevitably have a positive impact on the local real estate market.

One of the projects, the two-lane ROB in replacement of the level crossing at km 615.5 of NH-31 (Oodlabari), is expected to reduce accidents due to improved safety features, bring down traveling distance, and save time. The other project is the ROB in lieu of level crossing at km 661.100 on NH-31 (Maynaguri), which will provide additional support to international connectivity.

In addition, the foundation stone was laid for the development of 4/6-lanning of NH-31 (New NH-10) with both side service roads from km 569.258 to km 581.030 (end of AH-02 project on NH-31 near Shivmandir to Sevoke Army Cantonment), which will majorly contribute to traffic decongestion in Siliguri. This development will also improve connectivity to northeast India and neighboring countries like Nepal, Bhutan, and Bangladesh.

These projects are expected to bring industrial and economic growth to West Bengal, with significant inroads for the agricultural sector. This growth will have a ripple effect on the local real estate market. The real estate company in Siliguri is excited about the prospect of the positive impact these developments will have on land sales and investments in the region.

Gadkari also announced a bridge on the Teesta River, which will soon be built at a cost of ₹1,100 crores. Additionally, he is scheduled to lay the foundation stone of two more national highway projects at Raiganj in Uttar Dinajpur, besides four other projects at Kharagpur in the West Midnapore district.

These exciting developments are expected to enhance the overall infrastructure of the region, thus providing an excellent opportunity for investors and property buyers in Siliguri. With these projects set to boost economic growth, the local real estate market is sure to benefit from the increased demand for land sales, leasing, and property management services.
